Miss Teen Michigan-World Pageant

Fellow judge Andrea Hernandez, Miss MI US Beauties.

On Saturday 3/27 I got a call from the director of the Miss Teen Michigan-World pageant, Christine. They were in need of a last minute judge, and I was able to fill in! I was shopping with my mom at the time and we left immediately and headed down to the pageant, which was held on the campus of Wayne State.

After a brief judge's orientation and a quick look over each contestant's bio, the interviews began! I had a wonderful time at this pageant. The group of people were so kind! Not to mention, the caliber of contestants was very high. I feel like I gained some perspective of what it's like to be a judge, which will ultimately make me a better competitor!

Congrats to the winner, Shelby Knafel!

Princess & Superheroes Fantasy Fun Night

On Friday 3/26 I was in charge of the nail-painting at Farmington's Princess & Superheroes Fantasy Fun Night. I was very busy chatting with the princesses and being a beautician for the night. Miss Washtenaw was another special guest at this event!

Parker Elementary Classroom Visit

March is reading month! I had the opportunity to visit Parker Elementary's preschool class today and read a book as well as participate in some fun alphabet activities. The kids were very interested in my tap dancing so we practiced a few steps together. I had a great time!

Page's 15th Annual Chili Cookoff

WDIV Detroit's weatherman Paul Gross was a chili judge.

On Sunday 3/7 I attended Page's of Farmington's Fifteenth Annual Chili Cookoff. I tried more chili than I have ever tried in my life! I also got to choose some of the lucky raffle winners and mingle with the crowd. All of the proceeds from this event went toward Bountiful Backpacks--a Farmington organization that provides meals on the weekends for families with school-age children.

Here I am with another one of the judges, Mama Duck.

Miss Michigan Orientation & Dinner/Dance

On Saturday 3/6 I attended the Miss Michigan orientation along with the rest of the Miss and Teen titleholders and at-large delegates. We heard a few speakers, chose our contestant numbers (I'm #25) and our roommates. At night there was a dinner/dance complete with karaoke. I couldn't resist karaoke--I sang Disturbia with Casey, Miss Bay County :-)

Miss Lighthouse Coast Pageant

The Miss Lighthouse Coast pageant is a 'sweeps' pageant for the state of Michigan. All of the girls competing have been a runner-up to another title (this was especially fun for me because last year I was a contestant in the Miss Lighthouse Coast pageant.) The winner goes on to orientation the next day along with the rest of the titleholders!

Some Miss and Teen titleholders with our Miss Michigan.

Congrats to the new MLHC, Stephanie Frey!

We were all contestants in last year's Miss Lighthouse Coast pageant and are all titleholders this year.

With my teen and my good friend Kelly.

Students Leading Students Seminar

Here I am with members of the Student Advisory Board.

On Thursday, March 4th I attended the Bentley High School Students Leading Students Seminar. I was a guest speaker and talked about passion, priorities and being a role model to high school and junior high students who are members of leadership groups at their schools. I am looking forward to my next SLS event later this month!
