Mrs. Philippines of Michigan 2009

Last night I judged the Mrs. Philipinnes of Michigan pageant in Troy. I had so much fun at this event! The pageant was also a fundraiser for FILAMCCO, a group that provides advancement of civic, cultural and professional interests of Filipino Americans in Michigan. I learned a lot about the Philippino culture.

The contestants competed in talent, evening gown and onstage question.

Thank you to Willie Dechavez for inviting me to judge. Everyone involved in this event was wonderful!

JoAnn (Miss Oakland County judge's chairperson) judged the pageant as well!
State Representative Tory Rocca, me & Jo Ann.
Congratulations to Johanna Sanders, Mrs. Philippines of Michigan 2009!
Miss Senior Michigan 2009, Caren Maceyko was also on the judge's panel.
I crowned the Friendship Award winner.

Beaumont Children's Miracle Classic

Today I sold raffle tickets for Children's Miracle Network at the Beaumont Children's Miracle Classic at Birmingham Country Club with our very own Miss Michigan, Nicole Blaszczyk!
The national platform of the Miss America Organization is Children's Miracle Network. I look forward to working with CMN throughout my year!

Miss Troy Pageant

I judged the Little Miss Troy, Pre-Teen Miss Troy, Young Miss Troy, Miss Teen Troy and Miss Troy pageant last night. Their interviews were on Thursday and the pageant was on Friday. It was very interesting to see from a judge's perspective--especially the interview process.

Sheila (the beautiful Miss Oakland County 2008) was the emcee for the pageant!

Two lovely queens who will represent Troy very well: Jenna Przeslawski, Miss Teen Troy 2009 and Olga Chernysheva, Miss Troy 2009.

On August 15th, 2009 Haleigh & I attended the Miss Monroe County pageant. This was my first MAO pageant to attend as Miss Oakland County. I had a great time! The contestants were all fabulous. Highlight of the pageant was Doug King and Rachel McCleery (Miss Monroe County 2007) singing The Prayer!

Victorian Games

On July 19th, 2009 I helped out at the Victorian Games held at Governer Warner's Mansion. I was the lucky gal who got to teach children how to play the Hoop Roll game!

I was joined by a few of our lovely contestants-- Elizabeth Hawthorne, 3rd runner up, and Melissa Keith!
On your mark, get set, GO!
I thought it was cool that someone made a sign with my name on it!

Founder's Festival Parade

Me & my director, Francesca & Haleigh.

On July 18th, 2009 Haleigh & I were in the Founder's Festival Parade. We had fun waving and smiling away. I'm trying to soak up every single moment of the year! No parade wave or smile is ever wasted. :)

Later that day I returned to the Masonic Temple Booth to help out again. I also met a bronze statue man. All in all, a great day as Miss Oakland County!

Founder's Festival: Day 1

July 17th, 2009 I helped out at the Masonic Temple Booth by selling cotton candy, popcorn, and more! I discovered that making cotton candy is a lot harder than it looks. Much love for Farmington Lodge 151! My cousin Gino stopped by to support the Masonic Temple. Shout out to the Borri's, who are awesome & are a few of my biggest fans.

That night we (teen & I) attended the Pay it 4ward Detroit event at Drakeshire Lanes. Miss Farmington and her court were there too. I was a celebrity bowler!

Congrats to Kayla Pingel, Miss Farmington 2009!
